Main Purpose
- Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting Linux server environments, with secondary support for Windows systems. The job holder provides cross-functional IT support and collaborates across multiple domains including server management, networking, and automation. Acts as a first point of contact for internal Linux-related IT issues.
About the Job
- Provide technical assistance in the installation, configuration, administration, and support of Linux systems (primarily CentOS and RedHat).
- Create and maintain Bash and Python scripts for automation and system management.
- Perform routine server maintenance, system upgrades, and troubleshooting on Linux platforms.
- Assist in managing Windows servers and MS Office environments as needed.
- Monitor and maintain network-based services including AD, TCP/IP protocols, VPN, firewalls, switching, and routing.
- Document Linux system procedures and IT services for internal engineering teams.
- Conduct weekly/monthly health checks and performance reviews of Linux systems.
- Provide preventive maintenance and technical support focused on Linux infrastructure.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience with Linux (CentOS, RedHat) is a must; experience with Windows servers is a plus.
- Scripting proficiency in Bash and Python.
- Basic understanding of network fundamentals: LAN, VPN, VLAN, switching, and routing.
- Familiarity with services and technologies such as: CentOS, AD, O365, TCP/IP, VPN.
- LPI (Linux Professional Institute) certification or an equivalent Linux-focused certification.
- Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSA, or MCSE) are a plus but not required.
